I don’t know why I find myself writing about love so much these days, but every time I try to write that’s what surfaces for me, so here I go again…
If love is…
patient,
kind,
doesn’t envy,
doesn’t boast,
isn’t proud
doesn’t dishonor others
isn’t self-seeking,
isn’t easily angered,
keeps no record of wrongs,
doesn’t delight in evil but rejoices with the truth…
And if love…
always protects,
always trusts,
always hopes,
always perseveres*
…then where is there room for soul-destroying negativity? It’s totally negated by this kind of Love.
But that’s not the main point of this famous passage, is it? The point is that we can do many things and have many possessions, but if we don’t have Love - - we don’t have anything.
How do I experience and embody this kind of love?
More on that in the days ahead…
