Regard - In the third* method of dealing with chaos from Pema Chodron we:
“Regard whatever arises is the manifestation of awakened energy.”
“Regard ourselves as already awake.”
“Regard our world as sacred.”
Take a moment and let those statements sink in. To play with them a bit, think of something that is chaotic or stressful in your life and then read each statement slowly. Be conscious of your breath as you do.
By meditating on these statements we stop splitting ourselves in two (dualism). They help us drop the labels of good and bad and we befriend ourselves instead. Consequently, we become free from guilt and shame.**
