Pause - Notes from the Tara Brach Podcast, episode “The Super Power of Mindful Witnessing” 2021-02-12
Pausing awakens the witness. It helps us to take a break from our mind and emotions and to observe whatever is going on.
Hitting the pause button could also be considered hitting the reset button. Even a brief pause can give us greater clarity, and when that is accomplished we can simply move on.
Pausing and witnessing helps us escape the chaos of our mind and our feelings.
When you are experiencing a bit of chaos, pause and ask two questions:
1_ What is happening inside of me right now?
2_ And can I let this be?
When we pause there is a natural kindness that comes through. Pausing and presence accepts what’s happening in the moment.
“In its fulness, attention is the purest form of love.“ When someone truly attends to us without judgment we know that we are loved. And it’s the same with the mindful witness.
