Today's Walk 3-15-2020
Photos are from today’s walk - March 15, 2020
I couldn't quite decide where to walk today. I thought of going to Golden Ears Provincial Park, but had such a nice walk around
Buntzen Lake
a couple of weeks ago that I decided to head that way again and maybe recreate the magic. When I finally reached the parking lot it was almost full even though it's a huge parking lot. I was fortunate to get a parking spot.
As I headed to ward the
Buntzen Lake Trail I thought I would head up to Powerline Road. Once I got there, I decided to take a right instead of a left and head toward Eagle Ridge Trail
hoping for a view point on this beautiful sunny day. My decision paid off. This is a trail that I will visit again.
Contemplative thought for the day....
I find the practice of “This”
- which is basically appreciation and presence
- to be an antidote for the feeling of being
disgruntled and feelings of shame
that seem to run beneath the surface
for me most of the time.
When I practice “this“ I am actively noticing
and appreciating. It’s the opposite of
being disgruntled which is not being
at peace with the present moment.
“This” is God seeing through me.
Playing as me.
It’s what God does and is.

Our guest today is author Eric Janzen. Eric is probably best known for his high fantasy fiction books. He's written a trilogy called The Dreamtrekker Journals Trilogy, and more recently released a new series entitled The Essence Tales. In Eric's bio, he says he will continue writing until he can't anymore.

Our daughter Jess gifted me with a poem today. She says... Wrapping up my last few days on the coast for now… it’s been so amazing to get so much “normal” time with my family, and one of my favorite things is morning walks with dad. His practice of noticing and of being quiet enough in spirit to notice the minute details is always a gift.
